We used to wait about a year for the galvanising to weather and then painted zinc chromate etch primer, and 3 coats of (in those days) "Forth Bridge paint"! I can remember one job where we took delivery of over 6 tons of paint, and I was told only 2 tons stayed on the towers - the rest was solvent which disappeared into the atmosphere! Water based paints used these days though.Peter Leehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15020212199830779526noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8914276256646518799.post-38619966598392340002019-04-14T15:53:32.986+01:002019-04-14T15:53:32.986+01:00The access road is a siding, so does not see passe...The access road is a siding, so does not see passenger use. It might be a siding but an important one as all locos have to run over it to exit the yard. Perhaps the railway should invest in some better rail for it as well after all the railway wouldn’t want to get caught out like the WSR just have.
Regards PaulK PaulKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08499643265058144113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8914276256646518799.post-72294716792691912952019-04-14T12:39:08.688+01:002019-04-14T12:39:08.688+01:00Maybe a coat of etch primer first would speed the ...Maybe a coat of etch primer first would speed the process up?Aardvark11https://www.blogger.com/profile/13090938730424120909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8914276256646518799.post-21121971238675188682019-04-14T12:26:07.287+01:002019-04-14T12:26:07.287+01:00From another Moto G4 plus user; you can change the...From another Moto G4 plus user; you can change the aspect ratio between 4:3 and 16:9, it's a setting somewhere. I have had it ...Yes, it's been quite a success. I have had it for 2 years now, and it has lasted, so far, more than twice as long as a compact camera with retractable lens. It's a Moto G4 Plus, not even that expensive.
The only drawback is the zoom, which is digital of course, and if you use it during videos, they go out of focus.
I have dropped it twice now, and each time the phone connection goes. It takes a while before you notice this. I learned by googling that to cure this you remove the SIM card, and re-insert it. That works. I have a book type leather cover for it, and that helps to absorb the shocks when dropped.

As you can imagine, our working environment is dusty and full of shocks. Exactly what the instructions on the former Canon camera tell you to avoid!

I've not explored the formatting, I'm happy with what it produces. I do handle every picture with Photoshop before blogging - correction of attitude, playing with light and shade, some trimming etc.

The last picture above for example worked quite well, given that it was taken from the dark side of the loco.
Jo https://www.blogger.com/profile/05480195769830116100noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8914276256646518799.post-2026417037455729312019-04-13T19:31:56.639+01:002019-04-13T19:31:56.639+01:00Jo. I notice they all seem to be in 4:3 format - I have the same smartphone and my pictures are in 16:9 "widescreen" format. Just curious!Peter Leehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15020212199830779526noreply@blogger.com
