I did my bit as Guard on re...Very interesting blog. I did my bit as Guard on relaying and ballast trains in the Midlands. (How many years ago was that? Sorry, I've run out of fingers and toes!) I know that the Guard doesn't do the hard work on a relaying possession - we were just there to uncouple and couple when required.
