It certainly stopped us all eating!<br />Your mention of seeing the grass-grown track at Wittersham Rd. all those years ago reminds me of my own "epiphany" moment, which was, as a 14 year-old, looking through the peeling gates at Isfield and seeing the empty trackbed stretching away like a invitation to explore.
