If the track between the platforms was so arranged that the "loop" - if you like came into Platform 1, a spur, parallel to the line at Platform 2, would provide a siding for such storage and, would be close enough to Platform 1 to be an attraction. These do not have to be pristine vehicles, they could be "in the queue" for refurbishment.Jim Bobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02454588927929365947noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8914276256646518799.post-3969837466293184632016-10-06T19:36:39.886+01:002016-10-06T19:36:39.886+01:00Kilometres is fine and what most engineering proje...Kilometres is fine and what most engineering projects use these days (point of fact, roads are now designed and built in metric with imperial signs put up at the end!). So, no storage of stock, which, would, of course, be an open target for vanadalism. However, it is a shame that we could not, at least, have a siding (such as the old horse dock), in the station area, to display some goods wagons behind secure fencing. Regarding the embankment slope south of Evesham Road bridge, the latest is that the only remedial work needed is to trim the slope to achieve a better angle. The necessary extent is still being calculated. The aim is still to retain an embankment two tracks wide. The original third track alignment is not required and will be partially lost in the necessary slope trimming.
Alan BielbyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8914276256646518799.post-2015563183098901382016-10-04T20:21:03.892+01:002016-10-04T20:21:03.892+01:00Guys, please give your name, don't post in ano...Guys, please give your name, don't post in anonymity.
If you say who you are, I will try to answer.Jo https://www.blogger.com/profile/05480195769830116100noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8914276256646518799.post-71740385438583752772016-10-04T16:57:34.766+01:002016-10-04T16:57:34.766+01:00I gather that it will be a loop or siding. The SHC clip is a sprung piece of wavy ...Hi Barry,

The SHC clip is a sprung piece of wavy steel that is inserted through a hoop in the concrete sleeper and on to the bottom of the rail. It's an outdated system now, but as our sleepers are second hand we see quite a lot of them. Everyone refers to them as SHC clips and I have forgotten what it stands for. I think the 'C' stands for clip, a bit like River Avon, where Avon means river :-)

The IBJ stands for Insulated Block Joint, and I did refer to that in the text. It divides the rails into different electrical sections for signalling.

Happy to help! Thanks for the compliment too.Jo https://www.blogger.com/profile/05480195769830116100noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8914276256646518799.post-71793079779013461812016-10-02T21:18:43.660+01:002016-10-02T21:18:43.660+01:00Hi,I am an enthusiastic reader of the many blogs o...Hi,I am an enthusiastic reader of the many blogs of the Glos./Warks. railway, particularly those connected with the extension to Broadway. I commend the attitude you take of treating your online readers as educated people but sadly fall short on this occasion: please would you explain what the terms SHC & IBJ mean? I can probably take a moderately educated guess but decided to ask the experts. All the very best with the on-going push to Broadway, Barry D.
